Crypto commentator X Finance Bull stated that SWIFT’s recent advances in blockchain integration could strengthen the role of XRP in global institutional finance, especially as banks accelerate the adoption of tokenized assets and digital currencies.
SWIFT’s blockchain initiative links with top banks
X Finance Bull referenced comments from Jack Pouderoyen, Digital Assets Product Lead at SWIFT, who said banks worldwide are increasingly focused on tokenizing deposits and various financial assets. SWIFT, established as the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication, operates a global platform supporting secure messaging and transactions between over 11,000 financial institutions.
Pouderoyen emphasized the importance of interoperability as financial institutions build different blockchain systems that must eventually interact. He revealed that SWIFT began piloting its own blockchain-based ledger about a year ago and has since enabled more than twelve banks to perform live transactions in a production-ready setting. Another six financial institutions are expected to join before the year’s end.
X Finance Bull argued that these developments represent real progress in moving blockchain technology into traditional banking operations. He said interconnected financial systems could drive up demand for networks capable of settling tokenized assets efficiently and securely.
X Finance Bull pointed to SWIFT’s efforts as a sign that financial institutions are preparing to rely on digital asset networks for cross-border payments, asset settlement, and increased liquidity as they adopt tokenization strategies.
Mini dictionary: SWIFT, or the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication, is a global cooperative that provides secure financial messaging services, serving as a backbone for international banking and transaction settlements.
Major banks bridge SWIFT and Ripple
According to X Finance Bull, BNY and Standard Chartered illustrate how established financial institutions are integrating SWIFT’s blockchain programs with Ripple and the XRP Ledger. BNY, also known as BNY Mellon, is one of the world’s largest custodian banks and asset servicers. The institution confirmed in October 2026 that its Digital Asset Custody platform now supports XRP and RLUSD, as well as providing primary reserve custody for RLUSD.
Standard Chartered Bank, a major international bank with operations in more than 60 countries, also partners in SWIFT’s blockchain initiative. The bank has maintained a relationship with Ripple since 2016 and, in October 2026, launched institutional RLUSD custody services using the XRP Ledger through its Dubai International Financial Centre branch. Standard Chartered is also collaborating with Ripple and LMAX Group on using RLUSD as collateral for institutional trading.
X Finance Bull noted that these collaborations are significant because they merge traditional banking services with digital-asset custody, trading, and settlement products.
Below is a summary comparing key participants involved in SWIFT’s blockchain initiative and their links to XRP and RLUSD:
| Bank/Institution | Role in SWIFT Blockchain | Connection to XRP/RLUSD |
|---|---|---|
| BNY Mellon | Live transactions, digital asset custody | Custodies XRP and RLUSD, primary reserve for RLUSD |
| Standard Chartered | Live transactions, custody services | RLUSD custody, Ripple partnership since 2016 |

Tokenization expands use cases for XRP Ledger
X Finance Bull identified new projects leveraging the XRP Ledger for tokenized investment products. DBS Bank and Franklin Templeton are collaborating with Ripple to tokenize money-market funds and RLUSD. Their joint initiative encompasses the sgBENJI fund by Franklin Templeton, which plans trading through the DBS Digital Exchange.
In another example, Aviva Investors recently launched a tokenized share class of its Sterling Liquidity Fund using the XRP Ledger. This broader fund manages assets worth about £22 billion, showcasing the scale involved in the tokenization push.
Brazilian financial infrastructure firm CSD BR, known for fund and custody solutions, is also working with Ripple on tokenizing investment-fund shares using the XRP Ledger’s Multi-Purpose Token standard. X Finance Bull suggested that these initiatives highlight the XRPL’s growing role in modernizing financial products and asset management.
Mini dictionary: XRPL, or the XRP Ledger, is an open-source blockchain network known for fast settlement and low transaction costs, with specialized token standards like Multi-Purpose Token facilitating tokenization and asset representation.
Liquidity and payments: XRP’s central opportunity
X Finance Bull argued that XRP’s greatest potential lies in its function as a bridge currency for cross-border transactions requiring liquidity between disparate currencies and digital assets. The XRP Ledger’s native auto-bridging feature allows for seamless exchanges between two assets when XRP provides optimal liquidity.
He indicated that a single transaction—such as exchanging tokenized euros for Brazilian reais—can route through XRP if it offers the best liquidity, simplifying global settlements for financial institutions.
Ripple’s joint effort with C2FO on the C2FO Instant Pay system is a recent example of leveraging XRPL and RLUSD for improved business payment and liquidity management. However, X Finance Bull cautioned that for significant demand to materialize, financial institutions and market makers must adopt active XRP usage for currency conversion and settlement. He noted the expansion of tokenized assets alone does not guarantee increased demand for XRP.
Mini dictionary: C2FO is a global platform that optimizes working capital and liquidity for businesses, providing solutions such as early payment programs through digital channels.
Outlook: Patience required as market evolves
Looking ahead to 2030, X Finance Bull predicted that tokenized securities, digital currencies, and institutional settlement services will increase in importance. He suggested tracking real-world foreign exchange flows via XRP, new tokenized markets, and emerging digital custody services to measure adoption progress.
He acknowledged disappointment among XRP holders due to recent price declines, but argued that short-term volatility does not necessarily reflect long-term potential. X Finance Bull maintained his confidence in XRP’s future as financial industry adoption of digital assets accelerates.
Despite repeated downturns in the market, X Finance Bull reminded XRP investors that volatility is common and that past recovery periods have delivered strong returns when institutional adoption grows.
