Zach Humphries, a prominent cryptocurrency investor and analyst, stated that XRP could stage a recovery toward $1.30 after the token dropped below the $1.20 threshold. At the time of his comments, XRP was trading near $1.17, which Humphries identified as a possible entry point for a short-term swing trade.
XRP price outlook and key trading levels
Humphries referred to XRP’s recent decline, noting that the asset lost the $1.20 support that he had previously highlighted as a potential weak point. The market’s movement down to around $1.17 brought XRP to a level where, according to Humphries, the cryptocurrency found stability in past months—particularly in June.
Examining historical price data, he emphasized that this range between $1.16 and $1.17 holds technical importance. For traders, Humphries described this zone as significant since XRP began stabilizing there in previous cycles before attempting further upward movement.
Humphries pointed out that XRP has now experienced five consecutive weeks of downward price action. He suggested that this persistent weakness may offer a tactical opportunity for traders looking to capture a potential rally. Specifically, Humphries considers buying in the $1.17 to $1.18 range, targeting a return to $1.30, a level at which XRP maintained support for longer periods in both March and September.
He also noted XRP’s relative underperformance compared to other leading cryptocurrencies, with some competitors showing gains as XRP continued to fall. According to Humphries, this lag could attract interest if XRP’s price begins to recover in the coming sessions.
However, he advised caution regarding wider market conditions, pointing to Bitcoin‘s performance as a potential trigger or obstacle for any XRP rebound. He underlined that his outlook centers on a short-term recovery, not an immediate surge to much higher price levels.
XRP recently slipped below $1.20, and with the current price around $1.17, this range may provide a prime short-term opportunity, though broader market trends like Bitcoin’s price action could impact any rebound.
Technical indicators present mixed signals
Humphries reviewed technical metrics provided by Market Vitals, a specialized AI-powered analytics dashboard tracking cryptocurrency signals. According to the platform, XRP generated a sell signal when its trading indicator shifted to short on November 6. Humphries suggested he would look for this signal to flip back to neutral before expecting stronger market momentum in the near term.
Despite the short signal, five out of six of Market Vitals’ trend checks for XRP remained positive. The one exception was XRP’s relative-strength MACD indicator, which had not yet turned bullish compared with the broader market index.
Humphries argued that, even as short-term indicators reflect weakness, longer-term trend metrics for XRP remain constructive. He referenced the dashboard’s buy signal for XRP over the longer horizon, which may offer some encouragement for patient investors.
In addition, Humphries looked at Stellar (XLM), observing that its indicator moved from neutral to weak. He explained that improvement in these technical signals would support a more positive outlook moving forward.

Long-term target and market cycle expectations
Shifting focus to the longer term, Humphries maintained his previous projection that XRP could reach a price between $8 and $10 within the current market cycle. He acknowledged that the prior $8 target failed to materialize during the anticipated altcoin rally in 2025, as XRP was unable to reach a new all-time high despite recovering in 2024.
Nevertheless, Humphries expressed continued optimism toward XRP’s future prospects, citing increasing institutional involvement as a potential catalyst for the broader cryptocurrency market and altcoins, including XRP. He described the present period as marking the first significant institutional-led crypto bull run, which he believes could set the stage for future growth.
Despite maintaining an $8 to $10 target, Humphries considers more ambitious forecasts, such as $20, $30, or $40, as overly optimistic for this cycle and does not expect XRP to reach those levels in the near term.
Humphries holds that institutional participation could enable XRP and other altcoins to progress, but he remains cautious about forecasts exceeding $10 in the current market environment.
