Binance has announced the full restoration of withdrawals for Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin on the Ethereum blockchain, as part of the ongoing recovery process following the recent $6.3 billion hack. The move marks a critical step in the platform’s phased service recovery, which began on November 1 after one of the largest security incidents in the industry’s history.
Expanded withdrawals and network coverage
On November 3, Binance moved into the second phase of its withdrawal restoration plan. The platform published an updated list of assets newly available for withdrawal, which includes not only RLUSD but also a range of other stablecoins and major cryptocurrencies on the Ethereum network.
Additional cryptocurrencies now available for withdrawal on Ethereum include Shiba Inu (SHIB), Chainlink (LINK), Worldcoin (WLD), Ondo (ONDO), and Ethena (ENA). Binance is also gradually reinstating withdrawals for dozens of digital assets across multiple blockchain networks, including BNB Smart Chain, Solana, XRP Ledger, Sui, Arbitrum, Optimism, Tron, and Base.
For users tracking portfolio changes amid this restoration process, CryptoAppsy‘s real-time charts and customizable portfolio monitoring can help monitor RLUSD movements and stay updated on when select assets are re-enabled for withdrawal. The platform’s live news tracking is particularly useful for users seeking the latest exchange updates impacting their assets.
XRP and other major crypto assets will soon be available for withdrawal on BNB Smart Chain, according to the exchange’s latest update. However, not all assets and network combinations will be restored simultaneously. Each will require dedicated security and operational checks before being made available, with Binance noting that these processes are being executed in stages.
Ongoing recovery and security measures
Binance started its withdrawal restoration by re-enabling withdrawals for leading cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP, Solana (SOL), Dogecoin (DOGE), and Zcash (ZEC), as well as stablecoins like USDT and USDC, on November 1.
The exchange cautioned users that, due to high demand, some delays could occur during the restoration process. Meanwhile, deposits for all assets remain operational and unaffected.
Binance stated that withdrawals for more digital assets and networks will be rolled out gradually, as each asset-network pair passes updated security and operations checks.
The recovery plan comes in the wake of the significant hack that took place on October 29. The attack resulted in the theft of approximately $6.3 billion in cryptocurrency from Binance’s reserves, making it one of the largest security breaches ever recorded in the crypto sector.
Details of the security breach and investigation
On October 31, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) publicly identified the hackers responsible for the incident as North Korean operatives connected to the TraderTraitor operation. According to the agency, the group has focused on converting much of the stolen funds into Ethereum to facilitate laundering through decentralized finance protocols and crypto swap services.
Binance has affirmed its commitment to a cautious, stepwise recovery, prioritizing user security while restoring full functionality for all supported assets and networks. The exchange plans to issue further updates as the withdrawal restoration process advances, assuring customers that additional assets will be re-enabled as soon as practical and safe.
Users are advised to expect phased reinstatement of withdrawal services and to monitor official communications for timely updates on asset availability.
