Bitcoin’s price, having climbed close to $80,000, could not maintain its upward momentum in the face of growing uncertainty. As anticipated yesterday, this increase has ended in a correction. Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts continue, with Sunday emerging as the most likely date for renewed peace talks, even as the timeline for a potential ceasefire remains unclear.

Trump escalates military tension

Amid the uncertainty, oil prices have leapt back to triple digits, while BTC slipped below the $78,000 mark. Pentagon officials informed Congress that six months would be needed to fully clear mines from the strait. In response, Trump announced that he has ordered military action to prevent any further mines from being placed.

In a statement, Trump said he has given strict orders to the US Navy to target and destroy any vessel, no matter how small, attempting to lay mines in the Strait of Hormuz. He also emphasized the intensification of mine-clearing operations, directing that these efforts be tripled without hesitation.

Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, emphasized: “I have ordered the United States Navy to strike and destroy any boats—no matter how small—placing mines in the waters of the Strait of Hormuz. Every one of their naval ships, all 159, will find themselves at the bottom of the sea! There will be no hesitation. Our mine-clearing ships are actively working in the strait, and I have ordered operations to be tripled. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

Standoff over nuclear and blockade conditions

Iran, for its part, insists that there will be no agreement until the blockade is lifted and its nuclear demands are met. Trump, pressing for these terms, has signaled a willingness to prolong the ceasefire indefinitely, stating he is waiting for a unified response from Iran’s divided leadership.

This ongoing tug-of-war has left markets volatile, with investors bracing for heightened activity over the weekend as diplomatic and military developments remain fluid.

The coming days are expected to bring increased movement, especially as both sides hold firm on their preconditions for any deal. The lack of clarity around the talks continues to fuel market instability.

Analysts note that market participants are watching for any breakthrough, but warn that sudden shifts—either diplomatic or military—could trigger sharp reactions in both traditional assets such as oil and digital currencies like $BTC.

As Sunday approaches, eyes remain on high-level meetings and potential changes in stance from either Washington or Tehran that could defuse, or intensify, the situation.

Ultimately, the intersection of geopolitical risk and digital asset volatility is shaping a tense atmosphere for both traders and diplomats, with the outcome hinging on decisions expected in the very near future.

Should talks falter over the weekend, continued market turbulence seems all but certain, with $BTC’s price movements closely reflecting the headline risk emerging from the region.

For now, the crypto community and global investors alike are watching closely, bracing for what may be a decisive weekend that could set the tone for weeks to come.
