Chainlink (LINK) is displaying early indications of a potential bullish reversal, as recent price action and underlying market dynamics show signs of recovery. The shift comes after a period of correction that followed a local high, prompting renewed speculation about the token’s near-term prospects.

Technical landscape and key support levels

LINK’s price descended from its local peak near $13.75 on September 7, sliding as low as $11.55 in subsequent trading as selling pressure intensified. Despite dropping below its short-term 20, 50, and 100 exponential moving averages (EMAs), LINK continues to hold above the 200 EMA, currently positioned around $11.00, a level widely followed by technical analysts for its long-term significance.

Market observers highlight that maintaining the $11.00 support is essential for preserving the overall recovery structure. Any sustained defense at this level could offer the foundation for bulls to retake higher resistance zones.

The near-term resistance now falls within the $11.66 to $11.88 range, delineated by a cluster of short-term moving averages. Technical traders view a breakout above this cluster as a critical signal for confirming renewed upward momentum.

Technical LevelApproximate ValueSignificance
Support (200 EMA)$11.00Key long-term support
Near-term Resistance$11.66–$11.88Short-term hurdle for bulls
Recovery Target$17–$18Potential upside if momentum continues

According to crypto analyst Trader Symba, the recent structure resembles a bullish fractal seen in past LINK cycles. Symba suggested that reclaiming the near-term resistance could pave the way for sideways consolidation, setting the stage for a further upward expansion into the $17–$18 region.

Trader Symba points out that if LINK can recover short-term resistance and consolidate above it, the token could enter another phase of expansion toward $17–$18.

Market momentum and investor positioning

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) has recovered to 39.92, moving away from oversold conditions but not yet signaling a clear transition to bullish territory. This development suggests that while selling momentum is waning, buyers have yet to take decisive control.

On the derivatives market, CoinGlass data shows LINK’s trading volume increased by 25.48% to $547.26 million, a sign of growing participation. At the same time, open interest decreased 4.25% to $607.77 million, indicating that traders may be unwinding leverage or repositioning rather than entering new directional bets.

Trading Volume$547.26 million+25.48%
Open Interest$607.77 million-4.25%

Analysts interpret the divergence between increased trading activity and reduced open interest as a sign of caution. Investors seem active in the market but remain hesitant to adopt strong leveraged positions until further confirmation emerges.

While LINK’s trading volume is rising, the decline in open interest suggests traders are cautious and possibly lightening their leveraged exposure.

Chainlink reserve accumulation and its impact

On the on-chain side, accumulation in Chainlink’s strategic reserve continues. Data from Onchain Lens indicates the reserve recently grew by 91,100 LINK (valued at around $1.06 million), bringing its monthly increase to approximately 511,000 LINK ($5.52 million). The foundation now holds an estimated total of 5.86 million LINK, with a market value of $67.24 million.

While these additions alone may not directly drive prices higher, the ongoing reserve growth adds to bullish sentiment, suggesting longer-term confidence among large holders.

Mini dictionary: Chainlink reserve, a strategic holding of LINK tokens controlled by the project or affiliated parties, often used for supporting network functions, ecosystem development, or staking rewards. Monitoring reserve changes can offer insight into project confidence and token supply dynamics.

For LINK, the immediate technical focus remains on reclaiming the $11.66–$11.88 resistance area and holding the $11.00 support. A clear move above resistance could validate the bullish setup identified by technical analysts and pave the way for further upside.
