Circle, the issuer of the USDC stablecoin, minted approximately $750 million USDC on the Solana blockchain over a 24-hour period, marking a significant increase in stablecoin liquidity for the network. This latest mint, identified by on-chain analytics platforms Lookonchain and Solscan, builds on a continuing trend of high-volume USDC minting on Solana, which remains the second-largest blockchain for USDC issuance after Ethereum.

Institutional demand and liquidity on Solana

According to Lookonchain and Solscan, Circle’s total gross USDC mints on Solana have reached $68.26 billion so far in 2026, with a current weekly average of around $3.5 billion. While not all minted tokens immediately enter user wallets or exchanges, the scale and pace of recent issuances reflect rising demand for dollar settlements facilitated by Solana’s network.

These fresh mints may represent inventory management, anticipated exchange flows, or institutional settlement needs spanning multiple blockchains. However, the actual circulating supply may differ, since mints also include redemptions or transfers between networks.

Circle Internet Group, which operates as the issuer and redeemer of USDC, supports the stablecoin across Ethereum, Solana, Base, Avalanche, and Arbitrum. The operational demand for USDC can often be tracked through the locations and timing of its mints on these networks.

Solana’s appeal for stablecoin activity

Solana is recognized for its high throughput, low transaction finality, and extremely low fees, often settling payments within seconds at a cost of less than one cent. These attributes make Solana a preferred network for market making, cross-border transfers, payroll, and DeFi activities that require fast and cost-effective transactions.

In 2026, Solana has processed hundreds of millions of transactions each month. The network’s sprawling DeFi ecosystem uses USDC extensively as a quote currency and collateral asset, especially in decentralized exchanges, lending platforms, and tokenized asset services.

USDC’s role in DeFi and market impact

USDC remains the second-largest stablecoin by market capitalization, just behind Tether’s USDT. Both asset managers and payment service providers increasingly use Solana’s infrastructure to facilitate USDC flows, pointing to widespread institutional adoption.

Data from DeFiLlama indicates that USDC continues to be a dominant stablecoin in terms of total value locked on decentralized finance protocols. The growing availability of USDC on Solana can contribute to deeper order books, narrower spreads, and more efficient trading between centralized and decentralized platforms.

For developers and ecosystem participants, the presence of ample USDC on Solana simplifies the creation of payment, savings, and trading applications that demand stable dollar value settlement.

Asset managers are expanding their offerings to include Solana-linked investment products, while new applications and services leverage Solana’s low-cost rails to build stablecoin-powered solutions for a rapidly diversifying user base.

Broader liquidity and network trends

Observers will be closely watching whether the substantial USDC minting on Solana leads to a sustained increase in circulating supply and higher transfer volumes. The latest USDC issuance reaffirms a broader shift in stablecoin liquidity toward networks providing faster and cheaper settlement, with Solana continuing to secure a growing share of this activity.

The impact of each large USDC mint is not limited to immediate liquidity but also signals an evolving landscape in which dollar liquidity increasingly follows the path of least resistance—more efficient and cost-effective settlement infrastructures.
