Solana‘s blockchain-based equity market registered a significant increase in activity with $657 million in trading volume recorded on November 2. This marks the network’s most robust daily performance since June and highlights the ongoing expansion of tokenized equity trading on Solana.
Backpack dominates daily tokenized equity activity
Backpack Securities, a digital asset company focused on tokenized stocks, played a pivotal role in driving this activity. Data released by Solana’s official account and reported on November 4 show that Backpack was responsible for $598 million of November 2’s total volume, representing approximately 91% of all transactions on the day.
This concentration is especially striking given Solana’s support for multiple tokenized securities providers such as Ondo Finance, Securitize, and xStocks. Despite a diversity of platforms in the ecosystem, Backpack has maintained a dominant presence.
Backpack launched its tokenized equity platform in June 2026 and has since reported more than $5.3 billion in cumulative onchain trading volume from June 12 to October 18. During this period, over 430,000 unique addresses held Backpack’s tokenized assets, and the platform listed dozens of US equity-backed tokens.
Backpack’s service allows eligible users to convert US-listed shares into blockchain tokens, which are backed 1:1 by the underlying securities and transferable between compatible wallets and decentralized applications.
This innovation has contributed to a broader trend of bringing major US equity exposure onto blockchain networks like Solana.
Mini dictionary: Backpack Securities is a financial technology provider offering onchain tokenized versions of US-listed stocks, enabling blockchain-based transfers and integration with decentralized finance protocols on the Solana network.
| Provider | November 2 Trading Volume |
|---|---|
| Backpack Securities | $598 million |
| Other platforms (Ondo, Securitize, xStocks, etc.) | $59 million |
| Total | $657 million |
Trading volume highlights market activity, not new capital inflow
Although the trading volume was substantial, this figure does not reflect fresh investment into tokenized stocks. Instead, it measures the cumulative value of all transactions on the day, which can include repeated trades involving the same tokens.
This metric is important because incentives and active memecoin trading have previously inflated tokenized-equity volumes on the network, according to earlier Solana adoption studies. As a result, trading volume can be much higher than the outstanding supply of tokens.
Officials have clarified that $657 million in daily trading represents transactional volume and not the total amount invested in newly issued tokenized stocks.
Despite these considerations, Solana’s tokenized securities market is diversifying. In October, Ondo Finance introduced tokenized investment portfolios. Ondo’s efforts also brought over 200 stocks and ETFs to Solana, expanding the available offerings beyond individual equities.
Developments in DeFi and traditional finance integration
Solana’s growth into a venue for digital representations of traditional financial products is facilitating broader use cases. On November 4, Backpack Securities and Kamino announced a new feature allowing eligible users to use their tokenized US equities as collateral to borrow USDC. This move enables holders to access liquidity without selling their shares.
The companies reported that around $50 million in tokenized securities had already been deployed as collateral on Kamino by October. However, using tokenized assets for borrowing introduces the risk of liquidation should collateral values fall.
Other recent developments highlight growing interest from established financial entities. Galaxy Digital, an investment management firm, has previously announced tokenization plans to enable traditional assets to be managed and transferred on blockchain infrastructure, reflecting a wider industry shift toward tokenized ownership models.
