Record growth in daily volumes

July 20 marked the highest daily spending ever recorded for crypto cards, as users substantially increased their payments through these platforms. Over the past year, daily crypto card usage has tripled, rising from roughly $10 million to over $30 million per day.

The surge in spending volumes highlights the growing adoption of crypto card programs, enabling users to spend digital assets for goods and services seamlessly. Two companies, KAST and RedotPay, are currently driving the majority of this daily transaction volume.

KAST$13.64 million1st
RedotPay$12.8 million2nd

For the first time, KAST led the daily rankings, recording $13.64 million in spending and narrowly surpassing RedotPay’s $12.8 million. However, KAST’s stay at the top was temporary, lasting only one day before RedotPay reclaimed its lead in cumulative volumes.

Flat crypto prices, rising real-world adoption

Despite relatively flat price movement in major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and an ongoing atmosphere of caution in the market, crypto card usage has continued to grow. The steady increase in transaction volumes suggests that more users are loading stablecoins onto their cards and using them for everyday purchases, signaling growing real-world adoption.

Even as crypto prices remain stagnant and market sentiment has hovered in the fear range, daily spending on crypto cards has reached new highs, pointing to a shift from speculative trading to actual usage for consumer purchases.

Analysts note that higher card spending reflects an ongoing trend: funds are flowing from digital assets to traditional commerce, not just amid bullish or speculative periods but as routine daily spending.

Impact of regulation and infrastructure

The passage of the GENIUS Act in July 2025 introduced a federal regulatory framework for stablecoin issuers in the US, encouraging more established companies to participate. Both KAST and RedotPay issue crypto cards that operate on the Visa payment network, enabling stablecoin holders to spend funds at around 150 million Visa-accepting merchants worldwide.

A significant portion of users are located outside the United States, relying on stablecoins for accessible dollar-based transactions without the need for a US bank account. This global demand continues to expand, regardless of market conditions for major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.

KAST’s brief lead fuelled by points campaign

KAST’s surge to the top daily slot was linked to a points-based promotional campaign launched in anticipation of a token generation event set for the fourth quarter. Users were incentivized to increase their spending in order to earn more points, temporarily boosting the day’s volume.

However, analysts caution that such spikes driven by rewards programs may not signify a genuine shift in market leadership. RedotPay retained its lead in overall transaction volumes after the promotion ended, highlighting that core usage habits remain stable despite one-day promotions.

KAST’s record daily volume resulted from a points campaign that encouraged users to front-load spending, but underlying market share has not shifted, as cumulative volume continues to favor RedotPay.

RedotPay, headquartered in Singapore, focuses on providing digitized payment solutions for stablecoin users globally, particularly those in emerging markets where access to traditional banking services remains limited.
