In a significant event over the past few months, cyber attackers have resurfaced, leaving everyone astonished. Several high-profile brands’ X accounts were compromised, including Lenovo and Yahoo, among numerous others. The attackers are using these hacked accounts to share information related to cryptocurrency.
Urgent Warning for Cryptocurrency Investors
Crypto investors are urged not to interact with the contract addresses shared by these attackers. In a recent post, ZachXBT stated, “Some major companies’ accounts on X are currently breached, and they are broadcasting a meme coin scam.”
When asked how such significant accounts were breached simultaneously, ZachXBT responded with a question.
“Did all these accounts connect to the same site/application and grant sharing permissions?”
So far, the scammers have managed to inflate the token‘s value to $67,000. The lack of risk appetite among investors, along with the token’s name being HACKED, might be what protects them. Zach recommends removing untrusted and unused applications from the Settings -> Security and account access -> Apps and sessions or Connected apps section.
