Ethereum traded at approximately $2,483 after declining 1.47% over the past day, according to Brave New Coin data. The recent session saw ETH briefly approach $2,600 before retracing its gains, settling back into the established price range that has shaped its trajectory in recent days.

Critical support area faces renewed pressure

ETH’s price remains locked within a short-term trading range after another unsuccessful move past its upper resistance. The asset met resistance at the upper band and reversed, refocusing market attention on the $2,450 to $2,480 support zone that has previously attracted buyers.

Technical analyst Eliz noted that ETH filled a recent long trigger and reached the initial profit objective before the market rotated lower. The chart indicates that the next major move could be shaped by how ETH behaves around the $2,465 to $2,480 area, which may determine buyers’ willingness to attempt another advance.

ETH remains confined within its trading range, and meaningful momentum will require a confirmed breakout and acceptance above the upper boundary, which could see price stretch toward $2,700 and possibly $2,800.

Traders continue to monitor whether this support region will once again hold off selling pressure or open the door to further declines.

$2,550 stands as pivotal resistance

Attempts to close above $2,550 on the weekly timescale have repeatedly failed, leaving this level as a crucial psychological and technical barrier. Analyst Ted Pillows continues to flag $2,550 as the key threshold. ETH remains stalled just below this resistance, while the next significant target, should a breakout occur, sits at $2,800.

If Ethereum can reclaim and hold above $2,550, the path toward $3,000 could reopen. Conversely, sustained weakness could bring lower zones into play, with notable support seen around $2,185 and a possible deeper retreat towards $1,965.

Liquidations surge as market volatility spikes

A wave of liquidations swept through the crypto market after Ethereum’s volatile swings near $2,500 to $2,600. Total liquidations reached roughly $109 million in a single hour, with Ethereum alone accounting for about $74.05 million. Bitcoin followed at a distant $21.6 million, showing the events’ concentration around ETH.

Large liquidation episodes often accelerate price declines when leveraged positions are unwound. For ETH, this reinforces the importance of waiting for clear confirmation around key support and resistance rather than acting on every intraday move.

The scale of recent liquidations highlights why strong market monitoring and caution remain essential for traders aiming to navigate sharp ETH price swings.

While traditional markets rely on complex intermediaries, significant change is underway. Wall Street’s transition to Web3 is enabling investors to hold shares of major U.S. corporations, gold, and silver directly in crypto wallets using platforms like 1stepSwap. By tokenizing Real-World Assets and finding top market prices within seconds, this structure removes traditional middlemen and adds new efficiency to asset trading.

Current technical outlook: Monitoring the boundaries

Short-term charts highlight key areas guiding Ethereum’s market structure. An important demand region lies around $2,440 to $2,460, with $2,454 singled out as a level requiring defense by buyers if further declines are to be avoided. On the upside, resistance is strong at $2,580 to $2,592, with another band near $2,610.

ETH was recently rejected from this resistance and must clear $2,592 to $2,610 for a decisive bullish shift in the near term.

Indicators reflect oversold conditions

Momentum has weakened following the recent downturn from the $2,590 to $2,600 range. On the 30-minute chart, ETH slipped to around $2,480 as several technical indicators approached territory commonly viewed as oversold. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) dropped to 33, nearing its typical lower boundary of 30. The Stochastic oscillator also fell deeply, suggesting sellers are near exhaustion.

Despite these readings, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) remains negative, leaving the directional bias pointed lower for now. If ETH stabilizes near the $2,450 to $2,480 support, a relief bounce may develop, but buyers would need to recover lost ground for any sustainable reversal.

For now, Ethereum’s battle is defined by the support between $2,450 and $2,480 and resistance at $2,550 to $2,592. A sustained move above resistance would brighten the outlook, but any breach of lower support could trigger further losses toward $2,185 or lower.
