The altcoin market is gearing up for significant token unlockings next week, as many projects prepare to release large volumes of coins. According to data compiled by Tokenomist, a total of $122.7 million in cryptocurrencies will enter circulation following these unlockings. This event could be crucial for investors, as such unlockings are likely to influence market prices. The most notable unlocking will occur with FTN coin, which will release $79.8 million worth of tokens, representing a substantial portion of its total supply.
Upcoming Major Altcoin Unlocks
The most prominent unlocking next week will involve FTN coin, scheduled for March 18, 2025. This unlocking will see $79.8 million worth of FTN entering the market, equating to 4.65% of the coin’s total circulating supply. The release of these tokens, held by the project’s founders and team, could lead to significant price volatility.
Additionally, MELANIA will also see a substantial unlocking, with $17.84 million set to enter circulation on the same day. This amount constitutes 17.5% of MELANIA’s total supply, making it a critical event for its price. Furthermore, on March 22, ID coin will experience a $14.23 million unlocking, which represents 13.94% of its circulating supply and could similarly affect price movements.
Minor Coin Unlockings on the Horizon
In addition to the major altcoin unlockings, there will also be smaller-scale token releases next week. On March 17, APE coin will have a $4 million unlocking, corresponding to 1% of its circulating supply. The same day will see PRIME coin with a $2.49 million unlocking.
On March 18, ACE coin will have a $930,000 unlocking. Following that, on March 19, PIXEL and ZKJ coins will see unlockings of $1.71 million and $1.69 million, respectively. The PIXEL unlocking will account for 5.85% of its circulating supply, while ZKJ’s will represent 1.38%.
