According to data from CoinGlass, over the past 24 hours, a staggering $1.8 billion worth of positions were liquidated. Notably, long positions opened with bullish expectations accounted for $1.6 billion of this total.

Even as global equity indexes climbed to fresh highs, crypto assets failed to follow suit, catching bullish investors off-guard. In the early hours of Wednesday, a sharp downturn resulted in losses ranging from 2 to 6 percent among the top ten cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, deepening market uncertainty.
CoinGlass records indicate this marks the largest daily liquidation wave since February 5. Out of the $1.8 billion liquidated, only $200 million stemmed from short positions, underscoring that the brunt of the sell-off targeted bullish traders.
