Galaxy Digital CEO Mike Novogratz has projected that Bitcoin $104,938 could potentially skyrocket to the $1 million mark. He articulated this bold prediction during his recent appearance on the Schwab Network program. Novogratz, a crypto billionaire, cited the increasing adoption of Bitcoin among younger investors and the forthcoming intergenerational wealth transfer as the primary reasons behind his forecast. He emphasized that Bitcoin’s current market capitalization, estimated at around $2 trillion, still lags significantly behind gold’s value of approximately $20 trillion.
Reasons Behind Bitcoin’s Potential Surge
Novogratz highlighted that one of the greatest opportunities for Bitcoin lies in the wealth transfer from the skeptical Baby Boomer generation (born 1946-1964) to more open-minded younger generations. Using Warren Buffett’s approaching retirement and Charlie Munger’s passing as examples, Novogratz remarked, “They didn’t love Bitcoin. They weren’t Bitcoin people. But I am sure their grandchildren are.”

Novogratz argued that this transfer of wealth could substantially increase the demand for cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, as younger generations are more attuned to the digital world and embrace Bitcoin as a store of value. According to him, even if Bitcoin were to reach the current market value of gold, it would equate to an enormous increase in its price.
Who is Novogratz?
Novogratz is a significant figure in the cryptocurrency world. He made his initial Bitcoin investments in 2013 and managed the Fortress macro hedge fund, which collapsed in 2015 due to exposure to the Swiss franc and Brazilian assets. Following this experience, Novogratz founded the crypto-focused Galaxy Digital in 2017, securing a substantial return on his major wager in this sphere, and now possesses an estimated net worth of $4.4 billion.
Novogratz is well-known for making optimistic predictions regarding Bitcoin’s future. He previously proposed that Bitcoin might overshadow gold within eight years. Last month, he expressed his expectation that the largest cryptocurrency could surge to $150,000 in the short term. Now, he has elevated his vision, indicating a long-term potential of Bitcoin hitting $1 million.
