Everyone started searching for the answer to a question after the latest draft. Will global stock exchanges be banned at this stage? The details of the 19-article draft have emerged, but investors did not fully understand what it entailed. Ömer İleri cleared up the confusion on this matter.

Are Global Stock Exchanges Being Banned?

No, in addition to the licensing and other obligations imposed on local exchanges, the banning of global exchanges is not in question. Ömer İleri from the AKP made the statement regarding the non-banning of global exchanges. Ömer İleri, one of the architects of this draft, is a person with first-hand knowledge of all the details.

“Regarding the regulation we presented to the parliament today, known as the crypto bill in the public, I felt the need to make the following clarification based on social media posts, especially concerning foreign platforms; The draft does not involve banning Turkish citizens from trading on foreign platforms. There is no obstacle for residents in Turkey to open accounts and trade on foreign platforms on their own initiative. However, activities such as foreign platforms opening Turkish websites and advertising to residents in Turkey will be subject to SPK licensing.”
