Ripple, a blockchain and payments infrastructure company, has announced a partnership with C2FO, a global working capital platform, to enable instant invoice financing and settlement on the XRP Ledger. This initiative aims to move invoice payment settlement times from days to seconds by leveraging on-chain solutions and stablecoin technology.
New Initiative Targets Invoice Payment Delays
The collaboration was introduced during the Ripple Swell 2026 event held in New York. C2FO’s established Early Pay programs have already delivered over $250 billion in working capital to suppliers through accelerated payment solutions. By integrating with Ripple’s technology, the partnership seeks to build on this foundation and address the slow pace of traditional bank payments.
Suppliers frequently wait 30, 60, or 90 days for payment after fulfilling orders, due to standard invoice terms in global commerce. C2FO’s platform already allows businesses to access part or all of their receivables sooner by connecting them with capital providers. However, even after an early payment is approved, further delays occur as funds transfer between banking institutions.
C2FO plans to introduce its Instant Pay service using Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin for on-chain settlement through the XRP Ledger. With this model, suppliers would continue submitting early payment requests via C2FO’s platform, capital providers would supply the liquidity, and settlement would be completed on-chain via RLUSD. Despite the blockchain settlement, payment terms and invoice due dates remain unchanged.
C2FO, headquartered in Kansas City, serves businesses of all sizes by offering flexible access to working capital and supports operations in more than 100 countries.
Mini dictionary: RLUSD is a US dollar-backed stablecoin issued by Ripple. It is designed for rapid, low-cost settlements across the XRP Ledger and is fully backed by cash and cash equivalents held by trusted custodians.
Ripple’s announcement clarified that, while C2FO’s Early Pay programs have enabled more than $250 billion in working capital historically, the new integration represents a proof-of-concept rather than completed blockchain transactions of that magnitude.
Currently, C2FO has not launched Instant Pay for general use. A waitlist is available for interested parties, and the service is expected to see a limited rollout in the coming months.
Ripple Aims for Broader Institutional Integration
The C2FO partnership is part of a broader effort by Ripple to extend blockchain solutions into institutional financial markets. Earlier this year, Ripple joined forces with DriveWealth to tackle similar inefficiencies in market fund transfers.
Ripple states that RLUSD has reached over $2.5 billion in market capitalization, with more than $1 billion of that issued on the XRP Ledger. With its infrastructure, the network typically completes settlement in three to five seconds. However, the actual availability of funds for suppliers depends on arrangements with banking partners for converting digital assets to fiat currency.
Ripple has also worked with cross-border payment provider Arf, which annually processes around $10 billion in transactions, and recently collaborated with Clearpool and Cicada on extending RLUSD-backed financing to businesses via decentralized credit markets.
The C2FO collaboration is aligned with Ripple’s evolving relationships with financial giants such as BNY, which are exploring tokenized trade finance and providing investors with access to blockchain-managed receivables.
While these ventures signal a broader push into real-world asset tokenization and institutional finance, the C2FO Instant Pay service focuses specifically on accelerating existing early-payment workflows for suppliers in commercial supply chains.
Ripple’s recent treasury initiatives and its involvement in tokenization projects with insurance company Aviva further highlight its strategic shift toward banking and enterprise clientele.
