Ripple 
$2, the issuer of XRP, has announced a $5 million fund to expand its University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI) program across the Asia-Pacific region. The company will support universities in Taiwan and Australia for the first time while renewing its collaboration with existing partners in South Korea, Japan, and Singapore. Research support, curriculum development, and student scholarships will be provided across a total of six countries. The initiative aims to increase the number of experts in the Blockchain field and accelerate academic work throughout the target region. With this, Ripple seeks to strengthen its leadership in global Blockchain innovation education.
University Program Expands in Asia
The new UBRI funding will establish Blockchain courses, update laboratory equipment, and offer scholarships to postgraduate students in Taiwan and Australia. In South Korea, Japan, and Singapore, partner universities will expand their existing projects to reach broader student audiences. Through these efforts, the program aims to enhance research output across the region.
The fund also allocates resources for interdisciplinary projects led by faculty members. Faculties of law, finance, engineering, and computer science will collaborate on projects ranging from Blockchain public policies to smart contract security. Ripple believes that university-industry collaboration can accelerate technological innovations. As part of this initiative, students will have opportunities for hands-on learning on real-world applications, with Ripple’s engineers participating as guest instructors.
