In his post, he stated, “This is part of a much larger AI strategy we’ve been working on for months. I will discuss more about AI and our partners in an upcoming AI-centric technical paper.” Kusama further emphasized this new direction by updating his X biography to include work on a comprehensive technical paper exploring AI, Shib, and Shy topics.
Although details are limited, Kusama’s declaration clearly demonstrates the ambition to place Shiba Inu at the forefront of technological innovation, with AI projected to play a central role in the project’s long-term technological vision.
New Era with Shib Alpha Layer Beta Launch
Following Kusama’s visionary statements, developer Kaal Dhairya announced the beta launch of Shib Alpha Layer. Developed with ElderLabs, Shib Alpha Layer utilizes Shibarium as its settlement layer, introducing a new Layer-3 “rollup abstraction stack.”
This new network aims to present users with a single blockchain experience that conceals technical complexities. Features include extremely fast transactions, nearly instant confirmations, payment of gas fees with coins and stablecoins other than BONE, advanced privacy features, and modular application support. Instant bridging and interoperability features are also set to be included soon.
Dhairya summarized the launch with, “Today we reverse the scenario… The meme era ends here.
