Mason Lynaugh, Executive Director of Stand With Crypto, has emphasized the significant influence that cryptocurrency advocates could exert in the upcoming US midterm elections, scheduled for November 3. He believes that a shift in congressional power this cycle may have long-term effects on Bitcoin and broader digital asset policies across the country.
Crypto’s political momentum grows nationwide
Stand With Crypto, a grassroots advocacy organization supporting pro-crypto legislation, has reported a network of 3.1 million supporters, with chapters active in every US state and at 47 college campuses. In addition, the group has endorsed 45 candidates for the upcoming midterms, aiming to channel the political energy of the crypto sector into measurable legislative outcomes.
Lynaugh described the group’s efforts as a “final push” to demonstrate the strength of the crypto voting bloc. He regards the crypto electorate as a key swing segment, often categorized as low-propensity voters that political campaigns invest heavily in targeting. According to Lynaugh, this group is capable of tipping tightly contested elections.
“Crypto voters are the low-propensity swing bloc that campaigns spend millions to find. In races decided by hundreds of votes, our 3.1 million advocates can make the difference,” Lynaugh explained during a recent interview.
Stand With Crypto’s advocacy work includes voter mobilization tools, such as the Voter Hub, which allows users to verify their registration status, check state deadlines, and analyze where political candidates stand on digital asset issues.
Mini dictionary: Stand With Crypto is a nonprofit advocacy organization dedicated to promoting pro-cryptocurrency policy by organizing supporters, endorsing candidates, and providing resources to inform voters.
Bipartisan efforts and future outlook
Recent developments in Congress indicate increasing bipartisan support for crypto initiatives. Lynaugh pointed to the Clarity Act and GENIUS Act as examples, noting that both have gained backing from a substantial number of lawmakers on both sides of the aisle. Specifically, he mentioned that approximately 100 Democrats supported these measures, which he believes underscores the cross-party appeal of digital asset reforms.
The organization has also tracked notable growth in legislative engagement. The number of A-rated lawmakers—those who receive top marks from pro-crypto advocacy groups—has surged from 90 to 338 over the past three years. Despite this momentum, some members of Congress remain skeptical of crypto-related policies, particularly among certain Democratic circles. Lynaugh suggested that the organization’s outreach aims to convert or defeat anti-Bitcoin legislators through coordinated grassroots action.
With increased engagement in the community and sustained advocacy, Stand With Crypto expects the next Congress to be the most pro-Bitcoin in US history, regardless of the election’s outcome.
Organizational strategy and community mobilization
As part of its overarching strategy, Stand With Crypto has outlined both volunteer-driven and financial initiatives. The group cited Fair Shake’s $95 million in campaign activity as an example of the scale at which digital asset advocacy is playing a role in political races. Meanwhile, Stand With Crypto primarily relies on its network of volunteers to mobilize voters through phone calls, events, and educational outreach.
The organization has expanded its presence on college campuses and in local communities to recruit young voters, positioning itself as a central force for digital asset policy advocacy in the US. Lynaugh remains optimistic about the sector’s influence on shaping the outcome and direction of federal crypto regulation after November.
