Strive (NASDAQ: ASST) has significantly expanded its Bitcoin reserves, acquiring 1,355 BTC for $107.7 million. CEO Matt Cole announced the purchase on Monday, September 21, 2026, cementing Strive’s status among the most prominent corporate buyers of Bitcoin in recent periods.
Strive’s growing Bitcoin holdings
With this latest purchase, Strive now holds 26,355 BTC in its treasury. The company’s Bitcoin acquisitions have surged since its merger in September 2025, with its reserve increasing almost vertically over the past year.
ASST shares responded positively to the news, rising more than 6% in pre-market trading. The stock has been on an upward trend throughout the month, exceeding the $30 mark on Friday, September 18.
Comparing corporate Bitcoin buyers
Strive paid an average of $79,475 for each of the 1,355 Bitcoin added to its treasury. This move outpaces Strategy (NASDAQ: MSTR), led by Michael Saylor, which purchased 950 BTC for nearly $76 million on the same day Strive announced its acquisition.
Despite Strive’s acceleration in BTC buying, Strategy remains the clear leader in total holdings. Strategy controls approximately 846,000 BTC valued at $71.9 billion, with Twenty One Capital in second place at 43,514 BTC. Strive ranks fifth among public companies, holding 26,355 BTC.
While Strategy holds the largest corporate stash of Bitcoin, Strive distinguishes itself through consistent weekly purchases. Recent transactions include 1,800 BTC in late August, 1,375 BTC the following week, a 469 BTC acquisition that pushed its reserves past 25,000, and most recently, this week’s 1,355 BTC.
Funding the BTC expansion
Strive has primarily relied on its Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Preferred Stock, SATA, to fund its Bitcoin acquisitions. SATA pays a 13% daily dividend and surpassed $1 billion in notional value earlier in September. The previous week’s purchase of 469 BTC was fully funded through SATA.
Matt Cole reported that the company also benefited from recent warrant exercises, raising $21.2 million in gross proceeds. With this addition, SATA accounted for 57.7% of the total new capital, a decrease from previous weeks where preferred shares constituted all funding. These mechanisms allow Strive to maintain an aggressive Bitcoin buying strategy without putting excess pressure on its existing funding model.
ASST stock, market context, and the wider crypto landscape
ASST shares have been on a strong run since closing at $12.80 on August 18, reaching above $30 by September 18, a gain of more than 120% within a month. On a year-to-date basis, the stock is up nearly 90%, placing Strive’s market capitalization between $2.5 billion and $2.6 billion.
The recent rally in ASST shares also restored SATA’s value to its $100 par, ensuring continued support for Strive’s coin acquisition program. Favorable market conditions further strengthened the company’s position, as Bitcoin reached $85,000 on Monday, its highest price since January. At current prices, Strive’s Bitcoin holdings are valued at approximately $2.2 billion.
Alongside these movements, market monitoring and investor timing remain crucial, especially in rapidly evolving sectors like meme tokens. In this segment, online trends can result in millions of dollars of trading activity in a matter of days. For example, data from Fomo App shows that a trader turned a $99 investment in “Niu Lai” into about $370,000, illustrating the speed and unpredictability of this landscape. Fomo App provides users with tools for token discovery and trading, including social feeds, investor rankings, and trade notifications, allowing them to follow both meme token movements and investor actions closely.
Current market dynamics highlight the importance of diligent monitoring not only of price movements but also of the timing and selections made by active investors. Robust platforms now offer features that combine token tracking with community insight and live trade notifications.
