The recognition and acceptance of the cryptocurrency sector continues to grow daily, with 2023 hosting many significant advances in this field. The Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSII) has taken a critical step in this context. As one of the city’s most important institutions, the HKSII has decided to provide cryptocurrency trading education.
Hong Kong is gradually becoming a hub for cryptocurrency and is attracting attention with many new developments. The licensed education provided by the institution, which aims to train the next generation of analysts and investors, has caught the attention. It’s known that more than 30,000 individuals annually take exams from the school, which provides a plethora of advanced education for brokers and asset managers.
Hong Kong Commences Cryptocurrency Courses
HKSII Chairman Colin Shaftesley stated in his comments on the topic that they would provide training programs on cryptocurrency trading in the coming months. HKSII seems to have already included several cryptocurrency-focused webinars in its event calendar. These include programs such as “How Digital Assets Can Coexist with Traditional Finance” and “Digital Assets for Portfolio Management”.
It’s also stated on a separate page of the institution that cryptocurrencies are included in the new licensing program. The inclusion of cryptocurrencies in the new program, agreed upon in June, reveals the city and its managers’ optimistic view towards cryptocurrencies. Educational institutions are required to obtain permission from regional administrators for each class they will provide.
Asia Adopts Cryptocurrencies
The HKSII is one of the critical members of the city’s financial services sector and previously had a position among the members of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (HKSFC). The school’s critical membership highlights the importance of the newly incoming education.
Moreover, China has also pushed the button on the cryptocurrency sector, and it can be said that there has been an overall crypto movement focused on Asia.
