Bitmine Immersion Technologies revealed Monday that it currently owns 5.79 million Ether, representing approximately 4.8% of the global supply. This announcement followed the acquisition of nearly 10,000 ETH over the past week, solidifying Bitmine’s position as the largest corporate holder of Ether among public companies, second only to Strategy regarding the total value of digital assets held.
Major Stake in Ethereum Network
The company stated that around 4.9 million ETH, or 85% of its total Ether holdings, are locked in staking through its validator infrastructure. Bitmine outlined plans to deploy all its Ether holdings across its staking facilities and validators, projecting annualized staking rewards of $299 million once fully activated.
Including its cryptocurrency holdings, cash, and marketable securities, Bitmine’s total assets stand at $11.8 billion as of July 26. The company’s aggressive staking and accumulation strategy highlights an ongoing commitment to expanding its position within the Ethereum ecosystem.
Reflecting recent technical trends, Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee commented that the ETH/BTC ratio has climbed to a three-month high, which he believes demonstrates increasing momentum for Ether compared to Bitcoin.
Tom Lee pointed out that Ether’s strengthening position against Bitcoin signals rising momentum for the asset, reinforced by a three-month high in the ETH/BTC ratio.
Recent CoinGecko data shows Ether rose 2.4% over the last seven days while Bitcoin’s price slipped 0.7%. This positive divergence has further motivated Bitmine’s recent bulk purchases.
Strategy Adjusts Approach as Bitmine Surges
Meanwhile, Bitmine’s accumulation approach stands in contrast to that of Strategy, which has not added to its Bitcoin reserves in the past weeks. Instead, Strategy disclosed that it has raised $544.5 million through stock sales, bought back $25 million of its STRC preferred shares, and increased its US dollar holdings to $3.75 billion, with a steady holding of 843,775 BTC.
Bitmine’s intensified focus on ETH staking provides a notable counterpoint to Strategy’s recent strategic moves. In an environment of fluctuating ETH and BTC performance, major holders appear to be fine-tuning their approaches to digital asset management.

Continued Corporate Interest in Ethereum
Bitmine’s ongoing commitment to Ethereum and its validator operations underscores the rising role of institutions within major blockchain networks. The shift in corporate strategy between leading firms such as Bitmine and Strategy may set new benchmarks for asset allocation and participation in blockchain ecosystems in the months ahead.
Bitmine has established itself as one of the largest Ether holders worldwide, staking the majority of its assets to capture potential yields from network operations.
