Ethereum is seeing renewed optimism among crypto traders and investors, with multiple on-chain and sentiment metrics aligning to suggest the potential for a significant price move. While ETH experienced a weekly decline, institutional activity and growing social interest are contributing to a shift in market expectations.
ETH sentiment diverges from BTC and XRP
Santiment, a cryptocurrency market intelligence firm, has identified a substantial difference in sentiment across leading tokens on social media platforms including X, Reddit, and Telegram. The data indicates a strong tilt toward bullishness for Ethereum. For every bearish comment about ETH, there are 2.05 bullish ones, marking the coin’s entry into what is known as FOMO, or Fear of Missing Out, territory.
Social volume on major channels currently shows Ethereum recording more than double the number of optimistic mentions compared to pessimistic ones, according to Santiment’s analysis.
Santiment attributed this optimistic stance to ETH’s recent rebound off key support levels, increasing staking demand, and growing anticipation surrounding upcoming network upgrades. In contrast, traders in Bitcoin and XRP have adopted a more cautious outlook.
Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency, has seen its bullish-to-bearish comment ratio drop to 0.82. Recent rejections near the $87,000 mark, a pullback toward $81,000, and broader macroeconomic factors have triggered a series of long position liquidations.
Meanwhile, XRP, the native token of the Ripple payment network, recorded a bullish comment ratio of 0.92 after declining over 9% for the week and failing to retake the $1.40 level.
| Cryptocurrency | Bullish Ratio | Weekly Performance | Key Support/Resistance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ethereum (ETH) | 2.05 | -4.1% | Rebounds above support |
| Bitcoin (BTC) | 0.82 | Decline toward $81,000 | Repeated rejection near $87,000 |
| XRP | 0.92 | -9% | Failed to reclaim $1.40 |
Whale accumulation and ETF inflows
While retail participants react to short-term price changes, larger players appear to be accumulating ETH. The latest market data puts Ethereum at roughly $2,520, down 0.9% over the past 24 hours and 4.1% for the week. However, on-chain analytics from Lookonchain reveal notable whale activity, with one major address rotating capital from Bitcoin into Ethereum in recent days.
Over a three-day period, this address reportedly sold 1,074.36 BTC valued at about $89.5 million and converted the proceeds into approximately 36,159 ETH, worth around $90.6 million.

In addition, recent data from SoSoValue show a reversal in spot Ethereum ETF flows. On October 13, US Spot Ethereum ETFs broke a 10-day streak of net outflows, registering $24.84 million in net inflows. This was the first positive inflow since September 28, signaling renewed institutional confidence.
Analysts eye all-time high retest for ETH
Market participants have responded to these developments with increased optimism. Ted Pillows, a crypto investor and analyst, stated on X that he expects ETH to approach its previous all-time high before the end of the year, citing coordinated signs from social sentiment, ETF activity, and whale accumulation.
Ted Pillows believes Ethereum is positioned for a strong recovery, with large investors, ETF momentum, and community mood all aligning for a possible return to peak levels.
The contrasting behavior between Ethereum and its major peers reflects a broader realignment of trader attention, as participants monitor the evolving landscape across the cryptocurrency market.
