Ethereum’s price has staged an impressive rebound since slipping to $1,840 at the end of February, now rising above the $2,200 mark. The successful defense of the psychologically important $2,000 support level suggests buyers are regaining confidence and market momentum is turning positive. A sharp 6 percent rally at market open further restored some trust among participants who were previously on edge.
Institutional Activity Signals Renewed Interest
Amid strengthening technical signals, notable activity from major players is underscoring ongoing institutional interest in Ethereum. Asset management giant BlackRock recently introduced the iShares Staked Ethereum Trust, a new investment vehicle tailored to professionals. This launch indicates that, despite recent volatility, prominent institutions are not shying away from Ethereum. The upward move in Ethereum’s price has coincided with a broader recovery—total cryptocurrency market capitalization climbed 2.4 percent, nearing $2.6 trillion in value.
Technical Indicators Point to Sustained Upside
At the end of February, the RSI (Relative Strength Index) fell to 34, a sign that selling pressure was fading and buyers were returning to the market. Such levels often attract renewed investor interest, and following the subsequent break above $2,150, technical recovery appears to be underway. In addition, the hourly MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence) indicator has entered bullish territory, pointing to a constructive outlook in the near term.
The tightening supply of Ethereum on exchanges and stability around key Fibonacci retracement levels suggest that the recent swings were more technical corrections than fundamental declines. Sustaining the current uptrend will depend on trading volumes staying consistent and robust.
Key Targets and Potential Resistance Levels
Currently, the $2,200 zone serves as a crucial area of support. In the short term, resistance is clustered between $2,245 and $2,250. Should Ethereum break through the $2,250 threshold, the next critical target is $2,280. Beyond that, a move toward $2,320 could quickly become the focus for traders in the coming week.
Market sentiment over the medium term is increasingly optimistic. Notably, artificial intelligence developed by Chinese tech giant Alibaba has predicted that, given favorable macroeconomic conditions, Ethereum could push toward the $2,500 range. Additionally, there are discussions that the launch of staked Ethereum funds on exchanges could boost institutional liquidity flows into the market.
Critical Support Areas Demand Close Attention
Despite the upward momentum, failure to surpass the $2,300 resistance may trigger tests of support zones. The initial fallback levels are positioned at $2,180 and, subsequently, $2,150. A decisive drop below $2,150 would mark an end to the prevailing upward trend and could drag the price toward $2,100. The broader support lies between $2,050 and $2,000—a fall below here may reopen downside risks, possibly retesting the recent $1,840 low.
A heavy breach below $2,180 would signal a weakening in the ongoing recovery. Currently, the market’s direction hinges on whether Ethereum can consistently close above $2,300. Bulls are watching for a strong upward break at this level to confirm the continuation of the rally.
