Economist Alex Krüger made significant remarks about the current cycle of Bitcoin $82,518 and the cryptocurrency market. He stated that despite Bitcoin trading within a certain range, he anticipates an upward movement in the long term. Emphasizing the supercycle theory, Krüger noted that cryptocurrencies hold considerable potential but urged investors to be more selective.
Bitcoin and the Supercycle Theory
According to Krüger, Bitcoin is currently trading within a specific range, but this sideways movement is temporary. He believes Bitcoin has the potential to reach higher levels in the long term. The economist describes the current market cycle as a supercycle, which shows differences in timing and gains compared to previous years.
Krüger highlighted that Bitcoin moves in parallel with stocks, but pullbacks have been smaller and shorter in duration. For instance, he noted that corrections in Bitcoin have remained around 40%, which investors should keep in mind.
Expectations for Altseason and Solana’s Prospects
Krüger expressed that the altcoin market could also be affected by this cycle, but he cautioned investors regarding older projects. He advised choosing more innovative projects over older altcoins that lack continual profit potential.
Krüger identified Solana $131 as a standout project, referring to it as “the fastest horse.” Significant increases in Solana’s supply are expected in the next two months, which could signal important market movements.
He also discussed Ethereum $1,877, stressing that the main blockchain needs to capture more value. Enhancing Layer 2 solutions and introducing effective applications are critical for Ethereum to gain positive momentum.
Krüger believes the altcoin season will be shorter and more limited compared to previous years. He emphasized the need for careful decision-making among investors, pointing out that market sentiment and positioning have been negative, making the timing of altseason uncertain.
