XRPL Validator Vet recently highlighted remarks by Ripple president Monica Long at the XRPL Seoul 2026 event, where she examined the key elements that drive long-term growth in the XRP Ledger ecosystem. Long emphasized the importance of liquidity, trust, and utility in supporting the network’s future development.
Long’s perspective on utility and adoption
Monica Long, who serves as president of Ripple, a blockchain-based payment solutions company, discussed how XRP’s value extends beyond network transaction fees. She pointed out that institutional and real-world use cases are central to boosting liquidity and increasing on-chain activity across the XRP Ledger.
Long referred to an “interesting trinity” of liquidity, trust, and utility, a characterization initially advanced by Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen. She said that this trio of factors has shaped Ripple’s approach to scaling XRP usage from the company’s early days.
According to Long, meaningful use cases can accelerate the adoption of digital assets by connecting demand for blockchain solutions with increased liquidity and network engagement.
Real utility drives the adoption flywheel when it brings together use cases, enhanced liquidity, and a vibrant network. Institutions and startups add value to the ecosystem, supporting broader blockchain activity.
Vet, a widely-followed community validator and commentator, summarized Long’s position before highlighting her predictions for the network’s trajectory through 2027.
Predictions for tokenized assets on XRP Ledger
Long projected that the value of tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) on the XRP Ledger could climb to $30 billion by 2027. She outlined the asset growth trend on the network, starting with about $100 million in tokenized RWAs at the beginning of 2025 and reaching $1 billion by year-end.
As of her 2026 remarks, Long noted that tokenized assets had risen to approximately $6 billion. Extrapolating from this momentum, she applied a fivefold growth estimate and stated that the total could approach $30 billion within a year.
Vet reiterated this ambitious target, identifying it as a key expectation from Ripple’s leadership regarding the evolution of the XRP Ledger.
| Year | Tokenized Asset Value on XRP Ledger |
|---|---|
| Start of 2025 | $100 million |
| End of 2025 | $1 billion |
| 2026 | $6 billion |
| Projected for 2027 | $30 billion |
Mini dictionary: Tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) refer to the process of creating blockchain-based digital representations of physical or financial assets, allowing for improved transferability and liquidity across decentralized networks.
AI agent transaction spike expected
In addition to the push towards tokenization, Long predicted a sharp increase in AI agent transactions on the XRP Ledger. Citing recent figures, she noted there were approximately 11 million AI-enabled transactions recorded on the network.
Long projected this number could reach or exceed 100 million by 2027, signaling a potential tenfold surge in AI-related activity on the blockchain. She said the growing adoption of AI agents is likely to further expand the XRP Ledger’s utility and transaction volumes.
With more than 100 million AI agent transactions expected, the XRP Ledger could see significant growth in new blockchain use cases and expanded network activity.
Mini dictionary: AI agent transactions involve autonomous software programs powered by artificial intelligence, which can initiate or execute blockchain transactions without direct human intervention.
Vet’s coverage linked these two predictions to the larger themes of liquidity, trust, and real-world applications that Ripple executives say are essential to XRP Ledger adoption in the coming years.
