Robinhood and Ripple announced a comprehensive partnership on October 27, 2026, aiming to integrate several of Ripple’s institutional solutions into Robinhood’s operations, including settlement services, treasury management, and financing products.
Multi-faceted integration
Robinhood, a US-based financial services company known for its commission-free stock and crypto trading app, is expanding its institutional services by partnering with Ripple, the blockchain payments firm behind the XRP Ledger (XRPL) and RLUSD stablecoin.
The partnership will connect three distinct Ripple business lines—RLUSD settlement, Ripple Treasury, and Ripple Prime—to Robinhood’s institutional activities. This collaboration is not limited to a single product or service but aims to embed Ripple technologies across multiple Robinhood operations.
Crypto analyst CrediBULL Crypto commented on the development, stating that $XRP has significant growth potential in the current cycle. In his view, market participants may benefit from actively engaging with the cryptocurrency rather than dismissing it outright.
Whether you like $XRP or not, it is going to go a lot higher this cycle. You can hate it all you want or you can choose to make money.
RLUSD used for institutional settlement
Robinhood will leverage RLUSD, a regulated stablecoin issued on the XRP Ledger, to settle institutional transactions through its Bitstamp business. RLUSD is already functional on both Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp by Robinhood, with plans for broader rollout in the main Robinhood app later in 2026.
Ripple stated that the RLUSD integration will strengthen institutional settlement, though neither company disclosed detailed figures or a specific launch timeline for this service.
Mini dictionary: RLUSD is a US dollar-pegged stablecoin deployed on the XRP Ledger. It is designed to provide efficient institutional settlements and is backed by reserves, with regulatory approvals handled by fintech banks and custodians.
Ripple Treasury and Prime adoption
Robinhood will implement Ripple Treasury in its financial infrastructure. This platform enables automation of cash and liquidity management, forecasting, risk controls, and cross-entity payments for businesses. Ripple Treasury uses artificial intelligence to optimize workflows across cash positioning and reconciliation.
Johann Kerbrat, General Manager of Robinhood Crypto, clarified that Robinhood and Bitstamp will benefit from all three Ripple products: RLUSD for settlements, Ripple Treasury for internal operations, and Ripple Prime for financing.
Ripple Prime, the firm’s institutional financing arm, currently supports lending and margin financing for approximately 20 digital assets on Bitstamp by Robinhood. Clients can use Ripple Prime for spot trading, and perpetual futures trading is expected to launch later in 2026.
Mini dictionary: Ripple Prime is Ripple’s institutional platform offering financing tools, primarily lending and structured trading for digital assets. It connects Ripple’s clients to regulated exchanges and supports advanced transaction products.
Broader institutional focus
The partnership is part of Ripple’s broader push into regulated financial infrastructure. The day before announcing its Robinhood agreement, Ripple received final approval from the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) to launch Ripple National Trust Bank. This new entity will oversee RLUSD reserves and provide federally supervised digital asset custody.
Ripple also disclosed a deeper relationship with BNY Mellon, one of the world’s largest custodians, to manage custody for both XRP and RLUSD while exploring tokenized trade finance pilot programs on the XRPL.
By bringing RLUSD and XRPL technology into established financial operations, Ripple aims to enhance efficiency and compliance for institutional clients. Market observers are watching how this multi-layered partnership with Robinhood could impact adoption and trading activity in $XRP.
