Solana has surged to the forefront of tokenized commodity spot trading on decentralized exchanges, now capturing 36% of total volume, a sharp increase from just 1% three weeks earlier. Data from Blockworks shows that this leap has positioned Solana ahead of rival blockchain networks as the sector rapidly evolves.

Market leadership changes hands

The landscape of tokenized commodities trading has shifted frequently in recent months. Ethereum previously dominated daily spot volume, regularly holding more than 80% market share since tracking began in July 2026. Occasional increases by Avalanche did little to alter long-term trends.

By August, BNB Chain briefly overtook Ethereum, securing over half of the daily volume on select days. Shortly after, Robinhood Chain rose to first place, further disrupting the established hierarchy. The expansion of the tokenization industry has included the addition of tokenized US equities and commodity-backed assets across several networks, intensifying competition.

Market share in tokenized commodities has proven volatile, with Ethereum, BNB Chain, Robinhood Chain, and Solana each taking the lead at different points since July.

Currently, Robinhood Chain ranks just behind Solana with a 26% share, followed by Canton at 19%, and Ethereum, now at 13%.

Product launches drive Solana’s rise

Solana’s rapid ascent has paralleled the introduction of several innovative products on its network. Dominion Market launched SILV, a tokenized silver asset, while GMTrade added contracts for gold, silver, and oil. Kamino’s integration of PAXG as lending collateral and Raydium’s handling of increased decentralized trading flows have also contributed to Solana’s growing volume share.

The addition of PAXG, a gold-backed token, as collateral within Solana’s ecosystem encourages users to remain on the platform and access lending services, reducing the incentive to transfer assets to competitors. This extends the utility of tokenized commodities beyond spot trading into lending and collateralized products.

On the technical side, tracking both price changes and investors’ move across tokens and networks offers deeper insight into market momentum. In the meme token market, an internet trend can transform into millions of dollars of interest within days. According to data shared by Fomo App, a trade involving “Niu Lai”—which turned an initial $99 investment into approximately $370,000—stands out as a striking example of this activity. In this market, tracking not only prices but also the timing and token choices of investors is crucial. Asset values still favor Ethereum

Despite leading in trading volume, Solana lags in underlying asset value. Recent RWA.xyz figures, as of September 25, show Solana with $26.8 million in tokenized commodities—a modest 0.55% of total market capitalization. In contrast, Ethereum controls approximately $4.7 billion, or about 95% of the market’s value.

BNB Chain and Arbitrum each hold over $85 million in these assets, well above Solana’s figure. Robinhood Chain, while accounting for a quarter of daily volume on September 23, holds only $4.6 million in tokenized commodities. This disparity highlights the difference between trading activity and actual asset distribution across networks.

Even as Solana takes the lead in volume, most tokenized commodity value remains anchored on Ethereum, which holds a commanding share of the total supply tracked by market data.

Solana’s total commodity value rose 1.09% over the past 30 days. Over the same period, Ethereum registered a 4.72% decrease, while BNB Chain fell 7.83%. Small daily volumes mean that new product listings or liquidity surges can shift market share rapidly. Despite Solana’s current dominance in volume, the largest pool of tokenized commodity assets remains firmly on Ethereum for now.
