My Lovely Planet (MLP), a Web3 mobile game focused on real-world engagement, has announced an exciting partnership with international football star Hakan Çalhanoğlu and his wife, Sinem Çalhanoğlu. This collaboration introduces the Çalhanoğlu Forest project, a significant afforestation initiative in Turkey, where every move made in the game contributes to planting real trees.

Developed by the creators of Candy Crush, Royal Match, and Fortnite, and selected by Google (#WeArePlay), this game merges high-level entertainment with a powerful cause: every achievement in the game leads to a tree being planted in the real world. With its fun and addictive nature, similar to Candy Crush, it offers players the opportunity to contribute to combating climate change simply by playing.
The Çalhanoğlu Forest Initiative
The partnership’s first project will be executed in Kuşadası, Aydın, an area devastated by a major forest fire on June 29, 2024. In collaboration with the Seed Education Culture and Nature Association, the project will take place on the ground.
Stage 1 involves the immediate planting of 10,000 saplings with Hakan Çalhanoğlu’s support, covering an area equivalent to approximately 50 football fields.
Stage 2 invites users to join in by downloading the game and planting their own saplings alongside those of Hakan and Sinem Çalhanoğlu. The more players engage with My Lovely Planet, the more trees will grow!
To ensure longevity, only native and resilient species such as Turkish pine (Pinus brutia), oak (Quercus spp.), and selected fruit/valuable trees will be planted. Each project is aimed at achieving lasting success through expert land preparation, community participation, and long-term monitoring processes.
Under the #PlayForTurkey campaign, trees planted within the game will become a reality in the Çalhanoğlu Forest. More surprises will be announced soon, advocating for the idea that gaming can be both fun and meaningful.
