US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) attracted significant attention last week, registering nearly $2.39 billion in net inflows. This surge in capital came even as Bitcoin’s price retraced part of its earlier rally, showing robust investor confidence in these products.
Consistent investor demand despite price volatility
The Bitcoin ETFs maintained positive inflows over each trading session from September 21 through September 25. The strongest inflow occurred on Monday, reaching $999 million. Tuesday contributed $714.7 million, while subsequent days saw the pace slow to $346.9 million on Wednesday, $190.7 million on Thursday, and $134.5 million on Friday. These consecutive increases pushed the five-day net inflow total to approximately $2.386 billion.
This trend extended the consecutive inflow streak for US spot Bitcoin ETFs to seven trading sessions, highlighting persistent institutional and retail interest. Despite fluctuating cryptocurrency prices, demand for ETF exposure to Bitcoin remained strong.
ETF investors continued adding Bitcoin to their holdings throughout the week, undeterred by the asset’s price volatility and short-term declines.
Bitcoin’s price journey was marked by turbulence as it started the period near $81,200, briefly surged above $87,360, and then fell back to around $84,400 after a 2% drop on Wednesday. The cryptocurrency then hovered near $84,000 for much of Thursday and Friday, closing September 25 around $84,100. Over the weekend, Bitcoin stabilized and briefly traded above $85,100 before retreating.
BlackRock and Fidelity lead ETF inflows
Among individual ETFs, BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) made the largest impact, drawing about $1.16 billion in new investments over the five-day period. Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) followed with $701.6 million, while ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) attracted $294.7 million. Even on Friday, despite subdued inflows, IBIT managed to bring in $97 million and FBTC added $49.3 million.
Bitwise’s BITB saw a different trend, recording an $11.8 million outflow on Friday. This divergence among ETF funds reflects varying investor sentiments and positioning within the broader Bitcoin ETF landscape.
| ETF | 5-Day Net Inflow |
|---|---|
| BlackRock IBIT | $1.16 billion |
| Fidelity FBTC | $701.6 million |
| ARK 21Shares ARKB | $294.7 million |

ARK Invest is a prominent investment management firm focused on innovative technologies, and Bitwise specializes in cryptocurrency index and asset management solutions.
Throughout the week, ETF investors showed resilience by maintaining their allocation to Bitcoin exposure even as BTC prices fell from their recent highs. As of the latest session, Bitcoin traded around $83,070, reflecting a drop of approximately 2% over the past 24 hours following a weekend high near $85,100.
