Gold prices stabilized near $4,070 after a recent correction, with trading currently stuck in a tight range as buyers and sellers contest the next major move. The market experienced a sharp decline on Tuesday, pulling gold down from its earlier highs for the week, before finding support and recovering from the $4,050 zone.

Gold Retests Support After Recent Pullback

TradingView data shows that spot gold now moves just above $4,070 on the daily chart, recovering from a significant dip that erased recent gains and returned the metal back toward critical support levels. The price correction brought gold close to its previous high for the year, around $4,098, before rebounding.

Market participants are watching closely to see if gold can maintain support at the $4,050 mark or if prices will break down further. The outlook remains uncertain, with expectations of continued sideways movement until either bulls or bears take control of direction in the days ahead.

Analyst Mlia commented on X that gold returned toward the $4,070 level as predicted, reiterating a focus on the $4,060–$4,050 price zone for a potential buy opportunity. Mlia highlighted, “Back towards the 4070 as predicted. Keep an eye on Gold’s price correction targeting the 4060 – 4050 zone.”

During this period, technical analysts emphasized that maintaining support above $4,050 remains critical for the ongoing recovery, with targets set at the $4,116 area if momentum continues.

Another market observer, BANG, pointed to completed retracement moves near the $4,050–$4,040 range, suggesting the market could attempt another upward push after hitting these zones. BANG’s commentary was accompanied by diagrams illustrating potential breakout zones on the daily charts, as current price action attempts to retest the $4,076 region.

Despite volatility in recent days, gold’s overall trend has been sideways, locking prices into a relatively narrow band following a major uptrend earlier this year.

Technical Indicators Show Stabilizing Momentum

Key technical indicators on the daily chart suggest stabilizing momentum. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator—which measures the relationship between two moving averages—had previously dipped below the signal line but has since crossed back above, signaling a potential shift in momentum.

The MACD, often used to detect bullish or bearish trends, turned positive after holding steady during the correction, while daily histograms also show rising values.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI), another core market metric, is currently near 47 on the daily timeframe. This level suggests that, although gold remains below the critical 50 mark, the RSI has avoided dropping to oversold territory, which would be below 30.

Previous readings below 40 failed to produce a further breakdown this week, keeping the market in a consolidation phase. Trading volume has increased alongside sharp intraday swings, reflecting heightened activity as investors respond to every fluctuation in the broader outlook.

Mini dictionary: MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence), a momentum indicator that shows the relationship between two moving averages of an asset’s price to help traders identify trend direction and strength.

Resistance Levels Remain Near $4,110 Area

For traders, the $4,110 to $4,116 area represents the nearest technical resistance, which gold has struggled to surpass in recent sessions. Breakouts above this band could indicate renewed bullish sentiment, but markets will likely remain cautious as long as prices hover just above the lower support levels at $4,050.

Most trading strategies have shifted toward consolidation, with recommendations to buy gold above $4,060 if resistance holds, or look for short opportunities should gold fail to defend the $4,050 area. Momentum will depend on whether bulls can drive prices above current resistance or if sellers regain control.

Spot gold continues consolidating between $4,050 and $4,100 after recent fluctuations and remains just below $4,080 late in the week.
