Expanded payment integrations

The crypto payments company stated that Cash App Pay is now available through MoonPay’s own checkout process and with select partners. Supported platforms include Trust Wallet, Bitcoin.com, MetaMask, Moonshot, Ledger, BitPay, Uniswap, Tangem, LOBSTR, and Edge.

The new offering allows customers to pay for cryptocurrencies from their Cash App account within MoonPay, removing the need to switch applications or perform separate logins. MoonPay’s latest move follows earlier integrations of PayPal and Venmo, with PayPal support added in 2024 and Venmo introduced in subsequent updates. The company continues to add mainstream payment services to its platform, aiming to streamline crypto purchases for its user base.

Cash App, operated by Block—led by Jack Dorsey—serves as a widely used mobile payments platform. While Cash App already enables customers to buy and sell Bitcoin within its own app, the integration with MoonPay allows users to purchase a broader selection of cryptocurrencies beyond Bitcoin. According to Block’s second-quarter shareholder report, Cash App counted 59 million active users in June.

Industry perspectives on the integration

MoonPay’s co-founder and CEO Ivan Soto-Wright highlighted the strategic value of the partnership. He stated that by integrating with Cash App—which is already a financial hub for tens of millions—users can instantly access the digital asset ecosystem using funds from an app they already trust.

“Cash App is where tens of millions of Americans already manage their money. This integration means that those users can access the digital asset ecosystem, funded instantly from an app they already know and trust.”

MoonPay holds a BitLicense and Limited Purpose Trust Charter from the New York State Department of Financial Services, and is also authorized under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) for operations in the Netherlands.

Acquisitions and new product launches

In 2026, MoonPay focused on expanding beyond its traditional fiat-to-crypto onramp business through a series of acquisitions. In May, the company acquired Solana trading infrastructure provider DFlow. The previous month, MoonPay purchased crypto security firm Sodot, reinforcing its ongoing expansion into institutional services.

July saw MoonPay acquire Glide, a cross-chain infrastructure startup. Additionally, it launched PayBox, a secure vault enabling users of AI chatbots such as ChatGPT and Claude to authorize crypto transactions while maintaining full asset custody.
