Annual disruptions and congestion have become a norm for the Solana $219 network, and it faces yet another similar issue. Although the recent problems have not significantly impacted SOL Coin prices, the chronic nature of these issues has drawn community attention once again.
Solana and Phantom Wallet
Phantom, the largest wallet on the Solana network, recently reported service interruptions. Many users are unable to see their account balances correctly or execute transactions. Phantom acknowledged the significant challenges it faces and stated that it is working to resolve the ongoing situation.
Core Issue Behind the Disruption
The root cause of the problem was the distribution of 10% of the GRASS Token supply via airdrop. As user demands surged, the network encountered various disruptions.
“We are currently experiencing an outage, and some services may be temporarily disrupted. If you need to perform an urgent transaction, please disregard simulation errors and try using a dapp. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve the issue.”
Phantom’s announcement indicates that while the issue will be resolved, they cannot provide a specific timeframe. Similar problems were experienced on February 3 and August 15, but it remains unclear whether these issues are directly related to the Solana network, affecting a significant portion of the community.
