The exclusive event opened its doors to the 297 largest investors in the $TRUMP meme coin, bringing together significant figures from finance and digital assets under one roof.
Crypto and finance leaders meet
Among the headline speakers were Bill Zanker, one of the founding figures behind the TRUMP meme coin, followed by the iconic boxer Mike Tyson. The guest list read like a who’s who from both the crypto and traditional finance sectors, drawing widespread attention within the industry.
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino used his platform to highlight the connection between financial inclusion and the global role of the US dollar. The event also featured Ark Invest’s founder Cathie Wood and Alchemy CEO Nikil Viswanathan, who discussed the emerging intersection of artificial intelligence and cryptocurrencies, a topic capturing keen interest as both sectors expand rapidly.
Anchorage Digital CEO Nathan McCauley delivered up-to-date analysis on both digital assets and traditional stock markets. Other notable guests included Anthony Pompliano from ProCap Financial, as well as veteran investors like Tim Draper, Grant Cardone, and author Tony Robbins, adding further prestige to the gathering.
Trump’s digital asset strategy and backlash
The meeting served as yet another signal of Trump’s intent to support the digital asset sector should he return to the White House in 2025. According to the event’s official website, only the largest holders of the $TRUMP token were invited. This meme coin, which carries Trump’s name, was developed as a unique digital asset reflecting his personal brand.
A similar event hosted by Trump previously triggered criticism from Democratic politicians. At the time, detractors questioned not only Trump’s income from a token bearing his name but also his efforts to develop crypto-friendly regulations.
Debate surrounding the former president’s digital asset ventures grew as political circles suggested Trump’s dual role—supporting the sector and profiting from tokens named after himself—raised ethical concerns.
Steep drop in $TRUMP and $MELANIA tokens
Among the recent wave of digital projects tied to Trump’s return bid, the $TRUMP and $MELANIA meme coins stood out for their public profiles, associating directly with the former president and his spouse. These coins achieved initial traction by leveraging their celebrity associations, rather than any underlying technology.
However, the price rallies for both tokens proved short-lived. After hitting record highs upon Trump’s inaugural event in January 2025, $TRUMP plummeted by roughly 97 percent from its peak. $MELANIA followed a similar trajectory, losing about 99 percent of its value soon after its initial surge. Transaction fees generated by these coins, nevertheless, are reported to have brought millions in revenue to organizations linked to Trump and his family.
