Digital Asset Investor, a well-known cryptocurrency commentator, addressed discussions about XRP selling strategies, contending that the majority of XRP holders are likely to sell their tokens long before the asset could approach a price of $100.
XRP price milestones and investor strategies
In a recent video shared with his followers on X, Digital Asset Investor aligned himself with another crypto analyst, Pumpius, who argued that most XRP holders will opt to take profits once the asset reaches price levels around $5 or $10. Despite agreeing with this assessment, Digital Asset Investor clarified his own approach, stating that he intends to remain invested should XRP reach those milestones. He believes further significant adoption could follow those levels.
Pumpius, who actively comments on XRP trends, proposed that the majority of holders are likely to sell at $5, with another cohort waiting until $10 before making what they view as life-changing withdrawals. He suggested that such investors might later observe XRP climbing to a three-digit price, having already exited their positions.
Digital Asset Investor expressed confidence in his personal strategy, saying he does not expect to regret holding beyond the $5 and $10 marks. He referred to remarks by Dom Kwok, an executive at ZKX Protocol, and outlined his belief that XRP adoption could accelerate following an S-curve pattern, moving from early adoption to rapid mainstream growth.
Mini dictionary: S-curve, a model describing how new technologies or products are adopted slowly at first, then see rapid adoption before reaching a plateau as the market matures.
Most holders are expected to sell around $5 or $10, but there is strong conviction among some investors that staying the course might capture a larger adoption wave if XRP’s usage increases dramatically.
XRP could progress through key price levels
Digital Asset Investor outlined his view that XRP’s price could gradually reach $5, $10, and possibly $20. He stated his intention to maintain his investment over these stages, referencing his long-term commitment to the asset and desire to experience the potential impact of increased adoption.
He differentiated his approach from that of many investors who are content to secure profits during initial run-ups. His comments centered on the challenge of balancing profit-taking with the potential opportunity cost of missing further significant appreciation if mainstream adoption accelerates.
“I think we might gradually tick along to $5, $10, maybe $20,” he said, reinforcing his commitment to holding XRP beyond the levels where many others may choose to exit.
Diverse opinions among XRP investors
Other community members brought additional perspectives to the discussion. Ale G claimed he would sell if XRP ever reached $100, citing the transformative wealth such a price would bring and questioning why someone would risk staying invested after seeing such gains.
CryptoPhoenix27 agreed with the broader potential for price growth, labeling the projected price movement as a J-curve or “hockey-stick” pattern. He had previously shared similar views.
Meanwhile, B Simpson questioned the relevance of discussing $100 while XRP’s price remains near $1.50. Another commentator, CryptoCryptidX, said he plans to sell the majority of his holdings before the asset climbs to $20, while keeping a small portion invested for the long-term.
The ongoing debate highlights a split among XRP holders: while some aim to secure profits early, others prefer to stay invested in anticipation of accelerated adoption and higher valuations.
